Crop Tops: Showing some skin the right way!

An old trend with a hot new twist, crop tops are making a comeback this season! Are you ready to try out this style, but not sure how? Maybe you're still feeling a bit shy and not quite ready to take off your winter layers. While they are a bit bold, crop tops can be styled for any comfort level. Here's how!
This style is great for the girl on the go! Its cute and casual without being completely understated. Pair it with a cardigan for chilly mornings and you're good to go!

I know what you're thinking, can I really get away with this? The answer is yes! This Spring, spruce up your drab work wardrobe with a crop top and pencil or midi skirt. Keep it professional with a fun blazer, buttoned or open. In this outfit, you'll be the stylish bread-winner. After hours, take off the jacket and you're ready for cocktails.
Parties are the perfect place to try out this daring trend! You're certain to be an eye-catcher and the talk of the night. For those of us too shy to bare it all, you can always modify the look with a jacket or cardigan!

If you're still having trouble letting go of the layers, the crop top is a perfect way to cut loose and welcome the warm weather in. Let this inspire you the be more bold with your style choices, and as always, make it your own! Rock this with a confident smile and you're sure to be a show-stopper wherever you go!

Happy blogging,

Layla Mays: Emotion

Eyes are the window to the soul.
My very first photo shoot consisted of a hotel stairwell and a camera. The photographer told me we were going to try some really hard emotions and that I should just loosen up and feel it. It sounded so easy, “ but being vulnerable and emotional in front of a complete and total stranger is hard. One year later, I can finally say its easy for me to let loose in front of the camera and really get something great out of it. The biggest tip I have for anyone looking to improve this aspect of their shoots, or just for anyone who is curious how we do it, you must feel whatever emotion you're trying to portray. If you want sad, be sad. If you're happy, be happy. Feel it and be vulnerable; let your inhibitions go. Whatever emotion you're trying to portray, give it all you've got and really get your point across!

Rêver Magazine: All Flowers in Time...

I recently shot with Jesse Koska, a Nashville photographer, for Rêver Magazine, and I am in love with how the photos turned out! Shooting with Jesse is always a blast (this was my third time). He has such great energy behind the camera and really made me feel comfortable and at ease. If I had any advice for photographers, it would be this: make your models feel at home! If you are tense and uptight, your model will have a difficult time connecting with the camera. If you can crack a joke while keeping a shoot on point, you're golden and the photos will be magical.

Interview: Price Stone, photographer

While on my trip in Nashville, I had the opportunity to shoot with Price Stone, a young photographer based out of Nashville. How young am I talking? He's actually still in high school! However, age is truly just a number. Stone is incredibly talented and passionate about his work. Take a look at my interview with him and I also snuck in some of our shots!

Seeking Blogger Bestie!

To all the fashion bloggers, model bloggers, life bloggers, etc. I'm issuing a notice:

I need a blogger bestie!

While this may seem desperate to some, this is actually the perfect opportunity for those too shy to reach out. Here is your chance!

What I'm looking for:
- Someone who has been blogging for over one year on the same blog. I want someone who can teach me what they know and who is dedicated to their blog.
- Someone who would like to collaborate on posts or guest post on Innominate Girl.
- Someone who wants to skype, chat, fb, and possibly meet in person. I want us to be tight, at least online.

Ok, this is starting to sound a little bit desperate...does it make it worse if I say you must love cats?

I'm going to stop there, but I would love for you to comment on this post and link me to your blog, that way I can see if we might be compatible for best friendom! I will check out any blog that comments!

Thank you and I hope to meet you all soon!

Behind the Scenes: the Real Photoshoot

In a series I'll be starting called "Behind the Scenes", I'll walk you through a day in the life of an international model. You'll learn about everything from runways to model apartments, castings and even traveling alone. Today's post, however, is all about photoshoots!

When you watch shows like "America's Next Top Model" or "Make Me a Supermodel" or flip through a magazine, you see beautiful photos of beautiful women in beautiful clothing. You may think that modeling looks glamorous and would be tons of fun. There's hours of pampering with hair and makeup and the wardrobes are immaculate (do I want to wear Chanel, if only for an hour? Yes!). But, what you may not realize is everything that goes on behind the scenes. For those of you who aren't aware, its a lot of work!

"How can it be called 'work'? You get your makeup and hair done for you, wear the top fashions, and pose. Sounds easy enough to me!"

Yes, and no. I'm gonna walk you through my hardest shoot thus far! Are you ready to be enlightened? Well, let's get started.
